Build A Soccer Squad Core Loop — How the Game Works

Every action in Build A Soccer Squad traces back to one simple loop. Understanding it clearly is the difference between random spending and fast, intentional progress. This guide breaks down each step so you always know what to do next — and why.

The seven steps

1. Earn currency

2. Open packs

Spend your coins on packs (called rolls) to pull player cards. The pool spans footballers from 1970 to today, organized into teams including 2026 national squads and historic Legend rosters. The more teams you unlock, the wider the pool you roll from. See the best packs guide.

3. Build your squad

Slot the best cards into your eleven. A squad is more than eleven high numbers — two systems decide your real power:

• OVR — raw overall rating, the foundation of your squad score.
• Chemistry — nation and league links between players that multiply your effective rating.

4. Improve chemistry

Chemistry rewards intentional linking. Use nation links, league links, and secondary positions to boost your squad rating above what raw OVR would suggest. The green/blue/orange color system and the blue line in the Starting XI show your link strength at a glance. Master this in secondary positions.

5. Complete squads to unlock captains

The single biggest rating jump available is a 99 OVR captain earned by completing an entire eligible 2026 squad. Every player in that team must be collected. 6. Enter Cup Mode at 93 OVR

At 93 OVR, you unlock Cup Mode — tournament play against other players. Winning five cups unlocks 105+ OVR Cup Players, the best earned cards in the game below Limitbreakers and GOAT Edition. Read the Cup Mode guide.

7. Reroll weak cards

Cards that do not improve your OVR or chemistry are reroll fuel. Use the reroll and refresh guide to recycle them into more chances. Time bulk rerolls for when bonus servers or shop line-ups are worth it, and keep the Odds menu open to detect Limitbreaker and GOAT Edition hits while rolling.

How the loop accelerates

Each step feeds the others:

• Coins fund packs → better players → higher OVR → Cup access.
• Captains raise OVR and unlock rare rolled variants → stronger squad → easier cup wins.
• Cup wins grant 105+ OVR players → better baseline → higher average OVR.
• Codes add free rerolls and refreshes → more rolls → more high-value hits.

The players who progress fastest treat every step as a decision point: Does this action move me closer to a captain, a cup win, or a Limitbreaker pull? If it does not, it waits.

The GOAT Edition layer (September 2026)

The GOAT XI Editions patch added a new ceiling above Limitbreakers. The Best XI historic team now yields GOAT Edition cards, and a dedicated Odds menu lets you detect them during bulk rolls. The loop never stops. Each cycle:

1. Earn coins from dailies, quests, and cups.
2. Redeem active codes for free rerolls.
3. Roll within your target squad pool.
4. Slot new cards only when they improve OVR or chemistry.
5. Push toward a captain, cup wins, or Limitbreaker pulls.
6. Reroll everything else.
