What GB and SB cards are

GB and SB are variant tiers applied to specific footballers — think of them as premium versions of already-strong cards. They carry higher effective OVR than standard Primes or even some Cup Players, and they matter most when you are pushing a linked squad from 100 OVR toward 105+ and beyond.

Key traits:

• Named elite variants — each GB or SB card is tied to a real player (Messi, Modric, Kahn, etc.), not a generic position filler.
• Squad spike power — one GB or SB in the right chemistry slot can raise your entire formation rating more than swapping two mid-tier cards.
• Endgame chase tier — they sit alongside Limitbreaker cards in the progression ladder; many players treat GB/SB as stepping stones or complements to full Limitbreaker drops.

How to chase GB and SB cards

Hourly Shop

The hourly shop rotates ~20 100+ OVR Prime players every cycle. GB and SB variants can surface here when the rotation aligns — check every hour and buy only when the card patches a weak linked slot. Never break chemistry for an unlinked GB/SB upgrade unless the OVR gap is massive.

Cup Mode

Once your squad hits 93 OVR, Cup Mode unlocks tournament play. Five cup wins grant Cup Players at 105+ OVR — the income and rating boost fund your GB/SB chase. Push to ~100 OVR before farming cups seriously; early-round exits at 93–94 OVR earn very little.

Breakout sets

Breakout is the primary direct path to GB and SB payouts. Prioritize sets that list GB or SB milestones before spending currency on random packs.
