Hourly Shop Guide — Prime Players & Rotation Strategy

Deep guide to the Build A Soccer Squad Hourly Shop: 20 rotating 100+ OVR Prime players, when to spend Refreshes vs Rerolls, check schedules, and F2P strategy.

Last updated:

The Hourly Shop is one of the highest-impact systems in Build A Soccer Squad for players pushing past 93 OVR. It rotates roughly 20 Prime players rated 100+ OVR every hour, giving you targeted access to elite cards without gambling on random packs. This guide covers how the rotation works, when to spend Refreshes vs Rerolls, and how free players should fit the Hourly Shop into their weekly routine.

The Hourly Shop is separate from the daily shop on the left side of the lobby. Daily shop targets 2026 squad completion for captains; the Hourly Shop targets elite individual Primes when you need a specific high-OVR card in a linked slot.

How the hourly rotation works

Every hour, the game replaces the current Prime lineup with a fresh set of roughly 20 cards. There is no fixed schedule for which players appear — the pool rotates from the broader Prime catalog, so patience and timing matter.

Check schedule habits

  • Log in at the top of each hour if you are hunting a specific position or nation link.
  • Note what appeared — if a near-miss Prime showed up, similar cards may return in later rotations.
  • Do not impulse-buy — a 105 OVR Prime that breaks your league core is worse than a 100 OVR Prime that fits.

During the FUTURE code event, active codes grant 160 Refreshes across five codes — enough to cycle draft pools aggressively while you wait for the right Hourly offer.

When to buy Prime players

Buy from the Hourly Shop when all three conditions are true:

  1. The Prime fills a real position gap in your Best Team.
  2. The player preserves or improves your nation and league chemistry links.
  3. You are pushing toward 100+ OVR for serious Cup Mode farming or Limitbreaker progression.

Skip the buy when:

  • The card is high OVR but unlinked to your core squad.
  • You are still grinding a captain squad — the daily shop is higher priority below 93 OVR.
  • You already own a Prime in that slot with equal or better chemistry fit.

Refreshes vs Rerolls — spend the right resource

This is the most common Hourly Shop mistake. Refreshes and Rerolls do different jobs:

ResourceWhat it doesBest use in Hourly context
RefreshGenerates an entirely new draft poolCycle a dead roll session; hunt shop-adjacent cards in bulk rolls
RerollReplaces one player in the current poolFix one wrong position or nation in an otherwise good lineup

Refreshes — when and why

Use Refreshes when:

  • The entire draft pool is useless for your chemistry plan.
  • You are rolling for cards that complement a Prime you spotted in the Hourly Shop.
  • You have a large Refresh bank from codes (FUTURE, UNIVERSE, etc.) and a clear squad target.

Do not burn Refreshes hoping the Hourly Shop itself will refresh faster — the shop rotates on its own hourly timer regardless of your Refresh count.

Rerolls — when and why

Use Rerolls when:

  • One or two cards in your draft are wrong but the rest is keepable.
  • You need a specific position filled without losing three good links.
  • You are fine-tuning after a Prime purchase from the Hourly Shop.

F2P Hourly Shop strategy

Free players can dominate the Hourly Shop without Robux. The formula:

  1. Redeem all five active codesFUTURE, UNIVERSE, CONSOLE, LIMITBREAKER, DOUBLE for 170 Rerolls and 160 Refreshes (codes page).
  2. Finish one captain first — daily shop buys get you to 93 OVR faster than Hourly impulse purchases.
  3. Scan hourly, buy rarely — one perfect Prime beats five mediocre ones.
  4. Save Refreshes for dead pools — do not Refresh a lineup that already has two keepers.
  5. Stack with quests8-hour quests refill your Reroll and Refresh bank weekly.

Card priority for Hourly buys follows the best cards hierarchy: Limitbreaker → Cup Player → Prime → Captain.

Hourly Shop vs daily shop — quick decision tree

  1. Working toward a captain below 93 OVR?Daily shop first.
  2. Squad complete but chemistry weak? → Daily shop for links, then Hourly for elite slots.
  3. At 93+ OVR and need a top-end card? → Hourly Shop.
  4. Chasing Limitbreaker? → Hourly for gaps, then Breakout rewards and quests.

Common mistakes

  • Buying every high-OVR Prime — OVR alone does not win Cup brackets; chemistry does.
  • Using Rerolls to “refresh” mentally — if the whole pool is bad, that is a Refresh job.
  • Ignoring the hourly timer — checking once a day means missing 23 rotations.
  • Burning code fuel before checking the shop — scan the Hourly lineup before a heavy roll session.

The Hourly Shop rewards patience. Check every hour, buy with a plan, and let Refreshes cycle bad pools while you wait for the Prime that actually completes your squad.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to the most common questions.

What is the Hourly Shop in Build A Soccer Squad?

A rotating shop listing around 20 Prime players rated 100+ OVR. The lineup changes every hour, so checking on a schedule is essential.

When should I buy from the Hourly Shop vs roll packs?

Buy when a Prime fills a real position gap and keeps your chemistry links. Random rolls are for bulk collection and reroll fuel, not guaranteed top-end progress.

Should I spend Refreshes or Rerolls on the Hourly Shop?

Use Refreshes to cycle the Hourly rotation when hunting a specific Prime. Use Rerolls on individual weak cards in your draft pool, not to refresh the shop lineup.

Does buying a Prime unlock it for future rolls?

Yes. Purchasing or completing a quest for a player unlocks that footballer as a rare rolled variant in future sessions.
