What Prime players are

Prime players are elite cards rated above 100 OVR. The Captains update added around 20 of them to the hourly shop, available for purchase with in-game currency. They are designed to be the best cards a player can buy directly (as opposed to captains, which are earned by completing squads).

Crucially, the patch notes confirm that purchasing or completing a quest for a player unlocks that character to be rolled as a rare variant. So a Prime purchase is two rewards in one: the card itself, plus a new entry in your rare roll pool.

How the hourly shop works

The Prime offers live in the hourly shop, which rotates its line-up on an hourly basis. That means:

• Check back often. The card you need may appear in the next rotation.
