That wording appeared before the Cup Tournament update shipped and was not removed after Limitbreaker launched — suggesting ranked mode remains actively planned.

What ranked mode is NOT
To set expectations:
- Not live yet — no ranked queue, no MMR, no ranked rewards as of July 15, 2026.
- Not a replacement for Cup Mode — Cup Mode is the current competitive loop with 105+ OVR Cup Player rewards.
- Not required for progression — captains, Prime players, and Limitbreaker cards all unlock through existing systems.
Ranked will be an additional competitive layer, not a gate.
How to prepare your squad now
Players who build strong squads before ranked launches will start ahead. Focus on this checklist:
Foundation (every player)

- Run the quest loop — farm Rerolls and Refreshes via the quests guide.
- Claim daily logins — free Legends Pack every 7 days.
Mid-game (aim for before ranked launches)

- Hit 93 OVR — unlock Cup Mode access.

- Save your Best Team — saved lineups keep their OVR after balance patches.
Why squad rating will matter more in ranked
Cup Mode already uses simulated 3D matches where squad OVR influences results. Ranked 1v1 will likely amplify this:
- Individual card ratings in each position.
- Chemistry links between nation, league, and club.
- Captain bonuses from completed 2026 and Premium squads.
- Limitbreaker and Cup Player cards in key slots.
If you are building for ranked, prioritize linked squads over lucky pulls. A 100 OVR team with green chemistry will beat a 102 OVR random lineup.
