The Prime / Captains update reshaped Build A Soccer Squad’s economy. It introduced in-game currency, two shops, 99 OVR captains, and the hourly Prime rotation that still drives endgame progression today. This page documents everything that shipped.

In-game currency
Before this update, progression relied heavily on Robux and random rolls. The new currency system lets free players buy targeted cards from the daily shop and compete on a more even footing.

Daily shop
The daily shop on the left side of the lobby sells specific 2026 teams and individual players. Targeted buys are the highest-value spend because they guarantee progress toward a captain.

Hourly Prime shop
Around 20 Prime players rated 100+ OVR rotate through the hourly shop. Buying a Prime card also unlocks that player as a rare rolled variant in future sessions.

99 OVR captains
Collect the entirety of select 2026 squads to unlock their 99 OVR Captain. Track progress in the Rewards tab on the right side of the lobby.
Captains are the reason to focus currency on one team at a time instead of spreading rolls across random nations.

Bulk rerolls and refreshes
The shop now sells bulk reroll and refresh bundles for faster in-game use. Free players should still prioritize quest farming and codes over paid convenience.

Card display feature
You can select your favorite card to display over your head in the lobby. Pull a 99 OVR captain or a shiny special card and flex it for other players on the server.
Earlier patch: Legends update
Before the Prime economy overhaul, the Legends update shipped:
- Legends Pack featuring 99 Pele, 99 Maradona, and more legends.
- Lobby plaza for social interaction.
- Best card flex above your head (expanded in the Prime update).
The Legends Pack remains available as a premium purchase for historical squad chasers.
What this update enabled
The Prime / Captains economy made everything that followed possible:
- Cup Tournament update - players needed strong squads to enter Cup Mode at 93 OVR.
- Limitbreaker update - endgame chase built on top of Cup Players and captains.
